#choices
Okay.
A lot’s going on all over the place. And, with so many things going on, there are many ways to respond.
For some, that’s stockpiling eggs. I’ve seen “doom-posting” with statements like “It’s worse than you could possibly know” without going into any specifics, nor any solutions.
On the other hand, I have a friend who is deeply committed practicing more and more gratitude. I worked with a team this week that is in the process of ensuring their grading practices support all their students as much as possible. I know people hitting the gym harder, and some others picking up extra work or creative projects.
There are too many ways to list them all here.
But I keep thinking about this scene from Everything Everywhere All at Once (forgive the low quality) in which a character shares his motivation for pursuing joy and kindness as an act of fighting. In the wide variety of #choices this character could make, he does this:
I’m still thinking about it and what it might mean for me, today, in this moment.
It’s making me wonder:
How am I choosing to see things?
What do I need to hold onto no matter what?
What is demanding my time and energy, and is it congruent with how I feel I should be using my time and energy?
This week’s playlist has me thinking about the #choices we have even when things seem out of our control. Sidenote: I’ve unapologetically ended up in the dance/electronic instrumental side of things lately, and I know that’s not everyone’s jam.
Thanks for reading and listening, folks.
